Sameer Merchant, CFA - Ex Goldman Sachs and Barclays
Founder, CEO, and Lead Trainer
Investment Banking Experience: Sameer has more than a decade’s experience in Investment Banking, working for bulge bracket names ranging from Goldman Sachs to Barclays in London. He has covered stocks across a broad range of sectors, including Chemicals, Fintech and Real Estate, with market cap ranging from $50m to >$100bn. Sameer is also the CEO and Lead Equity Research Analyst of AlphaStone Equities.
Training experience: Sameer has actively participated in training graduates and analysts, both on and off the job. Sameer has trained students from leading universities including Wharton Business School, NYU, Columbia Business School, LSE, Oxford, Cambridge and London Business School among others.
Education: Sameer holds the CFA qualification from the Institute of Chartered Financial Analyst based in the US. He also holds a Masters in Finance from London Business School.
George Galanopoulos - Ex- Director of M&A at Rothschild & Co
Academic Consultant
George was previously the Director of Investment Banking at Rothschild & Co.
George has extensive experience in Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Finance, Strategy Advisory and Startup Fundraising and Planning.
Currently he is the Partner at Venero Capital Advisors.
George is also an avid investor in Real Estate and Startup companies and also an advisor and board members of multiple companies.
He holds an MSc in Accounting and Finance from LSE
Argyris Chatzilias – Ex Senior Banker, PE and Leverage Finance at HSBC
Guest Lecturer and Academic Consultant
Argy was the senior banker for Private Equity and Leverage Finance at HSBC. He was also part of HSBC's graduate hire committee in charge of designing banking tests for graduate hires.
Currently Argy is the head of debt capital advisory at Venero Capital Advisors.
He has 20 years’ experience in origination, structuring, execution and management roles in Global Corporate and Investment Banking.
Argy has supported clients with corporate and structured finance solutions including USPP, DCM, ECM, ESG finance and corporate treasury solutions.
He was Corporates Sector Head and Head of Financial Sponsors for Europe: FinTech, Tech, Media, Telecom, Consumer, Retail, Real Estate, Shipping, Energy and Professional Services.
Dr. Kenneth Lee - Ex-Head of European Equity Research at Barclays Capital
Guest Lecturer and Academic Consultant
Dr. Kenneth was the MD & Head of European Equity Research at Barclays Capital.
Prior to this, he was the Managing Director and highly ranked accounting and valuation analyst at Citi Investment Research.
Kenneth completed his doctorate at Aston Business School with a focus on how analysts make stock recommendation decisions using theories from sociology. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, member of the Institute of Taxation, a CFA Charterholder and a member of the Securities Institute. Originally educated at Trinity College Dublin/Dublin Institute of Technology with a BSc in Management. Now an Associate Professorial Lecturer at the London School of Economics.
Lyn Francisco - Admin and Recruitment Manager
Lyn holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and an Associate degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management.
Lyn is the Recruitment Manager at City Investment Training and helps in a number of tasks including recruitment, marketing, customer service and other administrative functions.
She has extensive experience working with clients across the globe on a wide variety of projects including marketing, admin and finance.
